Your Nissan is equipped with many tools to help you monitor your engine oil conditions. One of these tools is the Gauge Oil Level.
The oil level gauge assembly consists of a series of three major components — the sensor, which connects back to one of the main oilways within the engine block, the gauge or dial on your dashboard that shows the pressure reading reading from the sensor, and a wire which connects those two parts.
Your Gauge Oil Level can become damaged due to a collision, electrical failure, or prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures. While oil gauges do not require regular changes, they need to be replaced if damaged. After all, a bad Gauge Oil Level could give you "false" readings, leading you to think you have a problem when you don't or failing to alert you when immediate services are required!
If you notice that your Nissan Gauge Oil Level is unresponsive, reading low after an oil top-off, reading high despite a leak, or flip-flopping erratically, getting both your oil levels and level gauge checked is a good idea.
