Your Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve (PCV Valve) oversees how much carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide is emitted from the crankcase in your Nissan. The valve connects to the crankcase, which holds your vehicle's motor oil. As your engine burns fuel, the lubricant in your crankcase develops gasses that can be damaging to your Nissan and the earth's atmosphere. Instead of allowing harmful gasses to get into your engine and create sludge that can compromise the major systems of your Nissan, your PCV Valve provides a safer escape route. Once they enter the combustion chamber, the gases are burned. Finally, the gasses are expelled into the air as a less-damaging exhaust.
