The Accelerator Pedal Sensor in your Nissan sends electrical signals to the throttle, which determines how fast it moves based on how your gas pedal is engaged. When the accelerator pedal is pressed down, the Accelerator Pedal Sensor electronically tells the throttle to open further, allowing larger amounts of air and fuel to come into your engine.
